What: FACES Camp - a camp for kids with a facial difference!

traditional co-ed overnight summer camp for youth with facial differences ages 6 -17.

featuring Bring a Buddy to Camp, where siblings or BFFs can experience camp together while meeting kids with similar medical conditions.

FACES Camp offers outdoor adventure, noncompetitive sports, campfires, crafts,
and talent night.

FACES Camp campers bunk together in assigned cabins with a FACES Camp Counselor.

Staff to camper ratio averages 1:5. ACA Accredited

When: July 7 - 12, 2024

Where: FACES Camp is located at Camp Woodmont in Cloudland, Georgia, on 170 woodland acre campus on top of Lookout Mountain (approximately 2 hours north of Atlanta and 30 minutes south of Chattanooga, Tennessee).

RYAN VARGAS TO RETURN TO FACES CAMP
Exciting News! FACES board member, 23-year-old Ryan Vargas, a professional race car driver for NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will again spend a day with our FACES Camp kids. Ryan and campers had a great time hanging out together last year, and plan to have more fun this year! We hope your child comes to camp to meet Ryan who has a big heart for kids with craniofacial differences.
Vargas was born with Coronal-Synostosis craniosynostosis, a premature fusion of one of the coronal sutures of his skull, which caused parts of his head to be flat, as well as a raised eye socket. At eleven months he underwent corrective surgery and now has his “lightning bolt” scar on each side of his head to show for it. He will share his NASCAR racing gear, stories, and his inspiring message that having a facial difference does not prevent you from living your dreams. A parent shared that after meeting Ryan at camp last year it inspired her son to see himself beyond his differences and set goals for his future.
Ryan advocates for kids with facial differences through his platform at NASCAR and as a FACES board member. In November, Ryan was named the Comcast Community Champion of the Year, an award that is given to deserving organizations associated with individuals with the NASCAR family. FACES Camp director Ashley Rhodes, born with Crouzon syndrome, is highly involved in hands-on leadership and supervision of all aspects of FACES Camp. She is excited to bring the camp experience to children with facial differences. Ashley says, “It’s important for kids to know that they can do almost anything they set their mind to, regardless of their facial difference.”

Accreditation by the American Camp Association (ACA) and two generations of family management/ownership (70+ years combined experience) gives campers and parents a highly supervised program.
